Survey Results

Many thanks to the 51 parents who completed our annual parent survey. This year's overall rating (on a scale of 1–5, with 5 being best) is a 4.3 (up from 4.2 last year). Areas of strength include: communication, transparency, IB & STEAM programs, music, art, and PE. Areas needing attention include: a tuition rate that is too high, too few remedial and enrichment opportunities, and the need for more challenging science lessons. Please review the full results along with school's self-assessment of its progress towards meeting its annual goals.

We distributed re-enrollment contracts via email in late January. If you did not receive yours, please reach out to Mrs. Johnson in the admissions office . We expect K–4 classes are to fill-up quickly. Accordingly, we encourage parents to return the contract, and pay the registration fee of $1000 as soon as possible.

Summer Camps

Summer is fast-approaching, and planning is underway for three programs at Valley Prep.

  1. Summer camp for students entering PS–PK–K with Ms. Schmidt and Ms. Palacio.
  2. Summer camp with Smart Camps for students entering first through eighth grades.
  3. Math and reading support for students entering first through fifth grades.

More information about these three programs will become available soon.

Experiential Learning

Experiential Learning (i.e., overnight field trips) is an important part of Valley Prep's overall program. It is exciting that all our trips are likely to push through this year, but important due dates are coming up. We encourage all fourth through eighth grade parents to review our VPS Experiential Learning Program document for more information.

The school plans to hold three main fundraisers this school year in hopes of generating $100,000 of additional revenue for the school, the majority of which we will use for staff salaries.

The annual Fall Fest (Halloween carnival) is a family-friendly event held outdoors with fun games, food, and an auction. Our goal is to raise $15,000.

The annual Gala is an adults-only event with dinner, dancing, and an auction in the spring at a location TBD. Our goal is to raise $40,000.

For our annual fund, we will acknowledge donations of $250 or more by adding the donor's name to a brick which we will place along the wall near the basketball courts. We will acknowledge donations of $100 to $249 by adding the donor's name to the large VPS sign located on the hillside near carpool. Our goal is to have 100% participation and raise $45,000. Since July, we have raised more than $30,000. Please visit our donations website to help support our fundraising efforts.
