Choose Valley Prep

What sets Valley Preparatory School apart from the crowd? Our curriculum? Our students? Our teachers? Yes to all of the above and more!

Integrated Curriculum

Valley Preparatory School is gradually implementing the International Baccalaureate – Primary Years Program (IB-PYP), a holistic approach to teaching and learning that promotes cultural sensitivity and international-mindedness. The IB-PYP program uses six trans-disciplinary themes to organize traditional curricular content. At Valley Prep, two of these themes are STEAM related.

Rigorous Academics

We expect a lot of our students and believe that such high expectations bring out the best in every child. Many of our students receive acceptance into honors and advanced placement courses in high school. Colleges enrolling former VPS students who have recently graduated high school include Stanford, UCLA, Berkeley, NYU, University of Redlands, George Washington School of Law, Tufts Medical School, and various Ivy League institutions.

Small Class Size

We currently have an average class size of 15 students, which allows our teachers to provide individualized attention to each student. The maximum class size in preschool and prekindergarten is 12 students. We aim to keep our K–8 class-size under 18 students.

Experienced Faculty

We are fortunate to have an outstanding group of experienced and dedicated teachers who are firmly committed to the academic achievement, safety, and well-being of every student. They are enthusiastic, positive, and well prepared in their subject matter and the inquiry-based approach to teaching and learning.

Home-School Partnership

Teaching children is a partnership between the home and the school. Valley Prep strives to ensure the success of this partnership through clear communications with our families and by providing opportunities for parental participation.

Values-Based Education

Valley Preparatory School is deeply committed not only to the academic success of every student but in how each child demonstrates the basic values of honor, integrity, kindness, selflessness, and respect.

Leadership Opportunities

Through clubs, sports, student government, and community outreach, we provide opportunities for students to develop their leadership and communication skills.

Diversity

We welcome families from every race, religion, and national origin.

Experiential Learning & Field Trips

Experiential learning and field trips are an integral part of our curriculum and allow students to experience real-world situations, which greatly enhances their classroom learning. Additionally, one of the hallmarks of a Valley Preparatory School education is the ability to learn and utilize the scientific method and complete experiments in our two science labs.
