Valley Preparatory School Redlands California

One of the hallmarks of a Valley Preparatory School education is the ability to learn and utilize the scientific method.  Thanks to the donations of the Fargo and Manzano families, the Lower School Science Lab was developed during summer 2009.  This lab, open to all classes from pre-school through 5th grade, provides hands-on science experience to conduct experiments, observe scientific demonstrations, and be active learners of science! Science Lab Director, Middle School Science Teacher Ms. Hazel Whittaker, designed and planned this innovative learning space for the students!

This state-of-the-art science classroom includes science tables, areas for group learning and experiments, a superb Promethean “smart board” set, and various active learning modules for subjects in physical science, movement, biology, electricity and a myriad of subjects.  The materials, provided in a collaborative effort between the teachers and Ms. Whittaker, support the wide range of learning objectives in each grade.  As a professional educational team, the various grade level teachers and Ms. Whittaker co-designed an imaginative, magical learning space for our children!
